CERTIFICATION CASES

Certifications we have
guided partners to earn

From documentation and plant improvement through to audit preparation, we help partner plants build the food safety and market certification conditions a product and its destination require.

Framed certificates in a food plant reception

The eight certifications below are held by partner plants. Our part was requirement assessment, documentation, plant improvement and audit guidance. The first three are common purchasing requirements in export markets; the other five are Taiwan schemes.

Export market certification

Three international schemes
FSSC 22000

A GFSI-recognised food safety management scheme, and a baseline supplier condition for European and international retail chains.

Halal

Halal compliance across ingredient origin, alcohol content and line segregation. The condition of entry for Malaysia, Indonesia and the Middle East.

OU kosher

The most widely recognised kosher mark in the United States, and a direct requirement for some retail and foodservice buyers.

These are the schemes overseas buyers ask for before they ask for a price. Each one corresponds to a different set of markets.

Each of the three internationally recognised schemes opens a different set of markets. Without the one the destination requires, the product is eliminated at qualification, regardless of how good it is.

Taiwan market and quality schemes

The five below are Taiwan national schemes and testing programmes. They are effective qualification conditions for domestic retail, school and institutional catering buyers.

  • Tse-Xin organic certificationOrganic certification for raw materials and processed products, covering source and process.
  • Traceable Agricultural Product (TAP)Production records traceable to plot and batch, a common domestic retail requirement.
  • CAS Taiwan quality markA quality and hygiene mark for processed food, well recognised by Taiwanese consumers.
  • TAF-accredited laboratoryTest reports from a TAF-accredited laboratory, which channels accept as credible data.
  • Annual pesticide residue screening assessmentAn annual screening assessment on produce inputs, part of the raw material control record.

Our part in the process

Six stages
01 Requirement assessment

Establish which certifications and documents the category and destination require.

02 Documentation

Food safety plan, hazard analysis, traceability records and internal audit.

03 Plant improvement

Flow, hygienic zoning, ingredient segregation and sanitation verification.

04 Mock audit

A dry run against the certification body checklist, so findings are closed before the real audit.

05 Certification audit

On site on the day, helping answer findings and tracking corrective actions to closure.

06 Certification issued

The certificate issues, with the intended product confirmed inside its scope.

These six stages run between us and the plant. What a brand owner supplies is the product category and the target market. The rest needs none of their people.

What a certification covers

Every certification carries a defined scope of product category and production line. A certified plant does not mean everything made there is covered, and adding a new category to a certified line can require the scope to be extended.

So eligibility for an actual project is confirmed item by item against the product category, the target market and the line being used. That happens while the line is being configured, not discovered before shipment.

The certificates are held by the partner plants

The certifications listed here were earned by Veg Allies partner plants. Veg Allies provides requirement assessment, documentation, plant improvement and audit guidance. The product categories, lines and certified scope applicable to any given project are confirmed per project.

Which one does your product need?

You almost certainly do not need all of them. Tell us the product, the target market and the sales channel, and we can work out which certifications and documents actually have to be dealt with.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Common questions

Can these certificates cover my product?

A certificate covers a defined scope of line and product category; it does not automatically extend to anything made there. Whether your product falls inside is checked when the line is configured.

Do I need all of these?

No. Which one applies depends on the destination and the channel: halal for the Middle East, kosher for some US accounts, domestic schemes for Taiwanese retail. Extra certifications add cost, not credibility.

Does FSSC 22000 make halal easier?

Not directly. Halal examines ingredient origin, alcohol content, line segregation and cleaning, which the FSSC framework does not necessarily cover. But a plant with good foundations moves faster on any scheme, because documentation habits and record quality carry over.

Does the year on a certificate matter?

The certificates belong to the partner plants and the year marks when the work completed. Whether the certification used for an actual supply arrangement is current is confirmed when the line is configured.
